About Me
- Stacy
- This blog started out as a way for me to display and sell my handmade jewelry creations. I have set up shop on Etsy.com, where my shop name is "Dreamin of Beadin". The link to my Etsy store is located on the right hand side of this page. Please check me out!! If jewelry's not your thing, then check out the site anyway ~ there are plenty of talented artists selling lots of cool things there. For your reading pleasure, this blog will serve as a sneak peek into what's going on "behind the scenes" in my world. I love to cook, so there will be plenty of recipes, as well as product reviews and the occasional product giveaway (woo hoo!) I also love to take pictures of anything and everything, and I just bought a new camera, so there will be plenty of photos. And I like wine too, so things could get pretty interesting . . . Thank you for your support of me, Etsy and "all things handmade" :)

Contest Time: Name These Earrings!
****This Contest is now Closed ~ Thanks to all who entered****
One of the areas where I often get brain freeze is when naming my jewelry creations. I try to be as creative as possible, but it's not always easy. However, I think it is important to give names to the pieces I create because each is so unique and full of character. Sometimes a particular piece just screams out the name, and others leave me blank. Case in point: The colorful copper and crystal earrings you see pictured at left. I made them weeks ago but I am having trouble thinking up something really original to call them. So, I am asking for your help :)
Please help me "Name These Earrings"!! They're certainly deserving of a special title. To enter, Leave a comment on this post by 12:01am EST on 4/15/09 with your suggestions. You can enter as many times as you wish ~ originality is highly encouraged! I will then choose a winner based on the name that I feel fits best. The winning entry will be posted on this blog no later than 4/17/09.
The best part? The winning entry receives a $10 gift certificate to my Etsy shop!! You can click here to go to my website and start browsing ;)
This contest is open to anyone age 18 or older. Please check back to see if you have won, or leave your email address along with your comment so that I may contact you. No worries, I will not share your information.

My entry is, "PALOMA" in honor of Paloma Picasso. They look very exotic, sophisticated and whimsical all at the same time. Beautiful work!
The painter in me names them "Green Squared". Why green, you ask? I notice that they have both yellow and blue crystals. What do you do when you combine yellow and blue? Green!
Although the blue crystals are so beautiful I find the rectangular copper pieces so interesting. "Chocolate Bar" immediately came to mind because that's what they remind me of!

Blue guepard!!! The copper piece looks like guepard skin and blue is obvious!!! The crystal bead is so pretty!!! I thought first about Blue eyes guepard, but I found it a little long...
Thanks!

You could always name them Jolie!
to me, the copper reminds me of a vintage razor blade, so I would name it "Razor's Edge"

My choice is "iced chocolate". they are very beautiful.

"Windsong"...
is my name suggestion, because the wind could go right through the earrings and you might hear a song as they dangle with the pretty crystals...only the wearer, and angels, might hear the whisper of the wind!
