About Me

My photo
This blog started out as a way for me to display and sell my handmade jewelry creations. I have set up shop on, where my shop name is "Dreamin of Beadin". The link to my Etsy store is located on the right hand side of this page. Please check me out!! If jewelry's not your thing, then check out the site anyway ~ there are plenty of talented artists selling lots of cool things there. For your reading pleasure, this blog will serve as a sneak peek into what's going on "behind the scenes" in my world. I love to cook, so there will be plenty of recipes, as well as product reviews and the occasional product giveaway (woo hoo!) I also love to take pictures of anything and everything, and I just bought a new camera, so there will be plenty of photos. And I like wine too, so things could get pretty interesting . . . Thank you for your support of me, Etsy and "all things handmade" :)

Took a little vacay

This past week, Tony and I ventured up (waaay up!) to Michigan's Upper Peninsula with our friends Amie and Justin. It was our first camping experience and I must say, it was positive all the way around!! We are already planning the next trip :)
We saw many great sites on this trip, the highlight of which was the Tahquamenon Falls. This natural wonder consists of the smaller Lower Falls, and the amazing Upper Falls. We spent a day hiking through the woods to get from one to the other. Needless to say, we were all pretty beat at the end of the trip, but Tony and I were both surprised that were able to make the journey and live to tell about it--ha!

Baby, it's HOT outside!!!!

The mercury is rising!! It was well into the 90's today, and with the heat index it felt like 106!!! We attended yet another Detroit Tigers game, our second this week!! Another winner, too! YAY!!!!!!! Today's game was a quite a bit stickier and uncomfortable than Wednesday night's, but we still managed to have a BLAST!!!!!
I really need to get busy and create some new pieces for my shop! The picture above is of a recent creation, I call it the "Paula" necklace. I've done pretty well with sales the past two weeks, so I'm happy about that! I hear a lot of complaints about slow summer sales, but they sure aren't coming from me!! I am hoping that as Fall approaches, I can find more time to create some knockout pieces.

Happy 4th!!

Although the Holiday fell on a weird day this year, I don't mind it being smack in the middle of the work week! It was nice to sleep in and take it easy on "Hump Day" :D
We're chillin' on the homefront right now, but later we're off to the Tiger's Game this evening. Hopefully the rainstorms hold out for us!
To borrow a quote from the infamous Arthur P:

Hard to Believe . . .

Today is July 1! Another June is behind us. I start feeling a little melancholy when July 4 approaches, because it always feels to me that once we pass that date, it's Fall before you know it. Ah well, I guess all we can do is make the best of it and enjoy each warm, sunny day as they come!
These are some pics I snapped of the pot of flowers that is blooming right outside my door. Aren't they lovely?!?
