About Me
- Stacy
- This blog started out as a way for me to display and sell my handmade jewelry creations. I have set up shop on Etsy.com, where my shop name is "Dreamin of Beadin". The link to my Etsy store is located on the right hand side of this page. Please check me out!! If jewelry's not your thing, then check out the site anyway ~ there are plenty of talented artists selling lots of cool things there. For your reading pleasure, this blog will serve as a sneak peek into what's going on "behind the scenes" in my world. I love to cook, so there will be plenty of recipes, as well as product reviews and the occasional product giveaway (woo hoo!) I also love to take pictures of anything and everything, and I just bought a new camera, so there will be plenty of photos. And I like wine too, so things could get pretty interesting . . . Thank you for your support of me, Etsy and "all things handmade" :)

Gift Certificate Giveaway
In honor of my 4th Etsy Anniversary this month, I am giving away a $15 Gift Certificate to my shop! This time, you're going to have to work a little bit in order to win me over, but I think it will be fun :) Just leave a comment on this post telling me about your favorite kitchen tip, gadget or recipe. If you know anything about me, you know that cooking (and eating) is one of my favorite things to do! That's all that is required. The winning entry will be chosen based on creativity, thoughtfulness, and sincerity. Of course, I'd love it if you became a follower of this blog, or a fan on Facebook, but it is not required. The point here is to engage one another. I'd really love to get to know you better!
Deadline for this contest is 11:59pm EST on January 29. 2011. One winner will be selected based on the above criteria. I will post the name of the winner on January 30. Be sure to leave me your email address so that I can contact you if you win.
Thanks, and good luck everyone!

My favorite kitchen gadget is my bread maker! I love the smell of fresh bread and it's fun to try my hand at brioche, focaccia or multi-grain bread even if it doesn't always turn out quite right. I love my carbs though, so I'll eat it all anyway!
Thank you for the giveaway :) I'm following your blgo now too!p

my favourite kitchen tip is to use as least ingredients possible to make something! you can make things quicker, clean up quicker, and make it safer to eat and less likely to explode at all once. amazing :)

My new, most favorite recipe happens to be Banana Chocolate Chip Mayonnaise Muffins! Every time I tell people the name, they give me the strangest looks- it's not so strange, it's just eggs!- and then I get to wipe that look off their face when they actually taste them!
My favorite kitchen gadget happens to be my teapot, I can't start the day without it!

I love to bake (my hubby is the cook) but the BEST tools to have are the silicon ones! I got a spatula that is made out of silicon and it is the most wonderful invention for a baker. I have the cheaper plastic ones too, but they really don't do the job like the silicon ones. I also have silicon reusable muffin cups. You just give them a little spray and you can reuse them time after time... and save money! They come in all sorts of bright colors too! jmmccarr@gmail.com
Hiya! My favorite kitchen gadget(s) are my hands--seriously, there's a lot of gadgets that can clutter up a kitchen, know what I mean?
One of my favorite tips is, if you're going to cook up some chicken or ground beef for something, might as well cook up bunches and freeze portions for later cooking. So, if I'm making lasagna, tacos, spaghetti, chili, enchiladas, whatever, the meat is already prepared.
I want to see Roni's awesome cake pan . . .

Favorite recipe:
Peel 1 cucumber, slice it lengthwise, and then cut into 1/4 inch pieces. Put into large bowl.
Dice one large tomato into 1/2 inch pieces; add to bowl.
Dice one small sweet onion into 1/2 inch pieces; add to bowl.
Add olive oil vinaigrette to cover, toss and set aside for one hour.
Top with crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese.
This salad is really delicious, and is even better the second day, when the tomato juices, the cheese flavors, and the dressing mix together. If you leave out the cheese it is vegan, so it is great for potlucks. I love this and have it at least once a week!

When I make cookies, I use a tablespoon of vanilla instead of just a teaspoon. :)

My favorite recipe would have to be the Semolina Gnocchi with Oxtail Ragu and it's always a hit. It is a lot to prepare but the ending is so amazingly tasty. One of my fav. kitchen gadgets would be a shot glass. I can make bug in the hole, small biscuits. measure, so many useful things. And I don't drink, lol. ambrerose at(aol) dot(com)
My mexican pizza is the best.
I'm a vegetarian who likes to eat healthy- but I also love tasty food!
To make the mexican pizza, you lighty brown a tortilla in a pan with oil.
Then you take beans and put it on the tortilla much like sauce on a pizza. Then you put salsa over that layer. Then, the cheddar and pepper jack cheese.
After that, you bake the mexican pizza for about 10 minutes in the oven.
When the cheese melts, its done.
Eat that with a small dollop of sour cream and VOILA!
Delicious vegetarian healthy mexican pizza.
ugh I'm salivating thinking about it.

Wow!! These are SO GOOD!! Keep 'em coming, everyone. I am having a ball reading your tips!
Banana Chocolate Chip Mayonnaise Muffins
Ingredients
2 cups White Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 cup White Sugar
3 medium Bananas
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
1 cup Mayonnaise (Vegeniase works well, too)
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp White Flour
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 degrees, and prepare a muffin tin, via greasing or paper cups.
Mash the bananas, then mix with the mayonnaise. Stir in the chocolate chips. Add baking powder and baking soda, stirring, then slowly add the white sugar and flour until thoroughly mixed. The batter will be a little stickier than most muffin batters. Pour into prepared pans, each 3/4 full.
To make topping, mix brown sugar, butter, and 2 tbsp white flour in a bowl, mixing until it has the consistency of cornmeal. Sprinkle on top of muffins.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until top springs back after being pressed. Enjoy!!!
The crumb topping needs to be adjusted, because you will have some left over, but they really add to the deliciousness!
my favourite tip is to clean as you go! i love not having to clean up a huge mess after dinner/baking -- then i get to relax and enjoy whatever i've created :)
