About Me

My photo
This blog started out as a way for me to display and sell my handmade jewelry creations. I have set up shop on Etsy.com, where my shop name is "Dreamin of Beadin". The link to my Etsy store is located on the right hand side of this page. Please check me out!! If jewelry's not your thing, then check out the site anyway ~ there are plenty of talented artists selling lots of cool things there. For your reading pleasure, this blog will serve as a sneak peek into what's going on "behind the scenes" in my world. I love to cook, so there will be plenty of recipes, as well as product reviews and the occasional product giveaway (woo hoo!) I also love to take pictures of anything and everything, and I just bought a new camera, so there will be plenty of photos. And I like wine too, so things could get pretty interesting . . . Thank you for your support of me, Etsy and "all things handmade" :)

Take Me to the Fair!

Going to the fair was pretty much a tradition when I was growing up. My parents didn't have the money to take us on a fancy vacation, so the fair was a big deal for us. Even now, I enjoy going. I love the sights, the sounds and even the smells . . . well, not all the smells, but you catch my drift. I think the food is the best part of all ~ elephant ears, cotton candy, caramel apples . . . who can resist those?! Last night we and some friends went to the Michigan State Fair. It is the oldest state fair in the country and is in danger of being shut down due to budget constraints. This would be a real shame, and the thought of it makes me sad. Hopefully, that won't happen!

I love cotton candy! It reminds me of when I was little and... going to the fair. :) The other thing I am slightly obsessed with is... Ferris wheels! Love them, don't know why. I never miss an opportunity to ride one when I see it. I dragged my friends to do it in Chicago in early January. We nearly froze to death, but it was worth it. I would have done the same to Husband one cold January in Dallas. Luckily for him, after driving to find it for 40 minutes we found out that the Ferris wheel was only working in the summer.
