About Me

My photo
This blog started out as a way for me to display and sell my handmade jewelry creations. I have set up shop on Etsy.com, where my shop name is "Dreamin of Beadin". The link to my Etsy store is located on the right hand side of this page. Please check me out!! If jewelry's not your thing, then check out the site anyway ~ there are plenty of talented artists selling lots of cool things there. For your reading pleasure, this blog will serve as a sneak peek into what's going on "behind the scenes" in my world. I love to cook, so there will be plenty of recipes, as well as product reviews and the occasional product giveaway (woo hoo!) I also love to take pictures of anything and everything, and I just bought a new camera, so there will be plenty of photos. And I like wine too, so things could get pretty interesting . . . Thank you for your support of me, Etsy and "all things handmade" :)

Movie of the Year ~ "Julie and Julia"

Well, it may not be the movie of the year in some people's eyes, but in mine it is. After talking about it for weeks now, I finally went to see Julie and Julia. Have you seen it yet? Go. I think you'll love it too. Normally I do not rush out to see the latest release, but I knew I could not wait for this one to get to DVD. A nearby theatre runs a Monday thru Thursday special where all movies are only $4.75, which is half of what it normally costs for one admission, so I sprang for it. So glad I did. If you can't snag yourself a bargain on the ticket price, then no worries. You will not be disappointed. Not only is the film highly enjoyable and cleverly done, but I could relate to the character of Julie Powell on so many levels. I only wish I had beaten her to the punch and thought up the idea to cook my way through "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and then blog about it. If I had, I'd probably be living quite comfortably right now. Oh well. No offense to Julia, but I fancy myself more of a Paula Deen kinda gal anyway ;)
