I'm coming clean ~ I am a hoarder of vintage brooches! They are so fun to accessorize with, in so many different ways. You can add them to a hat, purse, scarf, or whatever outfit you happen to be wearing. Brooches were once the "must have" accessory for women, but sadly they don't seem to be as popular these days. I really love treasure hunting for them ~ in fact, it's rare that I ever see the same brooch twice in my travels.
The above photo shows a few favorites from my private collection. I get many compliments whenever I wear them. Although it's not always easy, I don't keep all of the pieces that I find. That is where my vintage shop comes into play ;) I have many gorgeous brooches listed, and am adding more all the time. Take a look at the Jewelry section of my shop to see these and many other interesting pieces.
About Me
- Stacy
- This blog started out as a way for me to display and sell my handmade jewelry creations. I have set up shop on Etsy.com, where my shop name is "Dreamin of Beadin". The link to my Etsy store is located on the right hand side of this page. Please check me out!! If jewelry's not your thing, then check out the site anyway ~ there are plenty of talented artists selling lots of cool things there. For your reading pleasure, this blog will serve as a sneak peek into what's going on "behind the scenes" in my world. I love to cook, so there will be plenty of recipes, as well as product reviews and the occasional product giveaway (woo hoo!) I also love to take pictures of anything and everything, and I just bought a new camera, so there will be plenty of photos. And I like wine too, so things could get pretty interesting . . . Thank you for your support of me, Etsy and "all things handmade" :)

One of My Favorite Things
This favorite thing actually happens to be a place. It is the colorful city of San Francisco, CA. We visited there last Fall. I've been meaning to share some of my photos since then, but this is the first chance I've had to do so. SF is one of my favorite US cities that I've been to yet. I hope to get back there soon. After seeing these pictures, I'm sure you'll know why!
Beautiful and enchanting Muir Woods
A foggy view of the Golden Gate bridge
Scenic Chinatown
Alcatraz ~ the Night tour is a must ~ spooky!!
The wharf is a must-see, although not my favorite place, but still very cool. I dislike tourists, even when I am one! lol
The Ferry Building
Famous "Painted Ladies" of Alamo Square
Enjoyed many desserts at the Italian bakery :)
The City by the Bay
Coit Tower
Everywhere we went, the food was incredible!
Amoeba Music ~ if you can't find it here, it doesn't exist!

One of My Favorite Things
I'm feeling especially festive, because my birthday is coming up! So, I thought it the appropriate time to share one of my favorite cocktails :) It is called Rum Chata, and you must try it. What exactly is it(?), you may be wondering. As the above picture states, it is "a delicious blend of sweet dairy cream, rum and cinnamon". Truly, it is heaven! It makes the most delicious cocktails, including a martini that tastes just like Tiramisu ~ YUM! Still don't believe me? Check out these other recipes, and I'm sure you'll find one you can't resist.
As I like to say often ~ "It's Rum Chata time!!!"

One of My Favorite Things
A friend recently introduced me to this website called BluntCard. As the name suggests, these are real paper greeting cards and E-cards that, well . . . tell it like it is. I must say, I've become addicted to this website! The next time you need some comic relief, or maybe when your boss/nasty neighbor/mother in law pisses you off, you will surely want to check it out ;)

One of My Favorite Things
Oprah's got her favorite things, and darn it, so do I! Too bad I don't have her salary to go with it :S At any rate, I've decided to start a new feature that will showcase little things that I am particularly fond of. Hopefully someone out there is listening, but if not, that's cool too.
Here is my first thing ~ Shallot Pepper from Penzeys. I love, LOVE this stuff!! I eat it like candy, which is OK, since it's not. I love pepper as it is, but this has tarragon, bay leaves, salt and shallots mixed in. I love it on eggs, sauteed veggies, fresh avocado slices, and just about anything savory. Ever since discovering it, I cannot live without it!
